Baptisms
We believe that baptism is a command from Jesus to all believers.
In Matthew 28:19-20 it says:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Baptism was an important step in the journey of early believers and we believe that that command still applies to us today.

In baptism, by faith, we are united with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection and this is symbolised in the practice of immersion in water. Baptism is an outward symbol of what has already happened spiritually when we come to put our trust and faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism does not make you a believer, it shows that you already are one.
Baptism is an expression of faith and therefore is only for believers. It is important that someone wishing to be baptised has come to a personal belief in Jesus Christ and what he has done for us on the cross.
